Product Guru Supplier Focus | Into the world of Cream & Country and the Natural & Sustainable Food market
At Product Guru, we are proud to support a growing community of small independent suppliers. We list products across all FMCG and gifts categories and we like to share the stories behind them.
Our latest 'Supplier Focus' blog looks at Karen Green, Managing Director at Cream & Country who told us more about the business in a recent interview.
Tell us a bit about your company and its background.
Cream and Country was formed 4 years ago when we spotted a gap in the market for a quintessentially British brand with quirky flavours reflecting English foodie traditions such as Eton mess and English Cream tea! We are based in Windsor and produce 7 delicious flavours of ice cream and one sorbet made from British milk from grass-fed cows raised in the Chew Valley
How many people work for the business?
Currently four people
Who does it sell to?
We are currently listed in head offices in London including national audit office and Virgin Clubhouses. We are also proud supporters of Royal Chelsea hospital and are listed in their shop and cafe.
Is there a specific product you are particularly proud of and why?
We are particularly proud of our new Scarlet ripple ice cream which has launched this year - it is delicious vanilla ice cream swirled with raspberry and redcurrant sauce with meringue pieces giving lovely texture. It is our quirky take on Eton Mess. It will be available in 120ml and 4L tubs.
What do you most enjoy about running your business?
There is such a tremendous opportunity for us to establish this brand in the UK through quintessentially British outlets in Windsor and London. I love attending festivals and events and seeing how everyone loves our ice cream - the feedback on our flavours is fabulous. It is great to put in the effort with sales and marketing and to see the growth coming through in readiness for the summer season.
What are your ambitions for your company?
Once we have established the brand in the UK, we are keen to export to the Middle and the Far East to global lovers of ice cream.
What do you enjoy doing during your spare time?
During my spare time, I love to be outside running off all those ice cream calories. I am also a big fan of yoga which helps me unwind after the challenges of business. I am renovating a house in the south of France and finally can see the end which means the fun begins in putting in furniture and furnishings
What do you think of the Product Guru platform?
We are new to the platform so are keen to see how it can help us. It is great to have an area for buyers to find new brands all in one place which hopefully makes it easier for suppliers and buyers to find each other.
Product Guru facilitates the introduction and the product discovery process by placing products in front of vetted buyers. Like Cream & Country, you can sign up to Product Guru today for free today and start showcasing your own products on our platform.
